Basic Laboratory Biosafety Biosecurity Course
Course Overview
The Basic Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity Course is a 5-day onsite training program that provides participants with a foundational understanding of biosafety and biosecurity principles for laboratories handling biological agents in the Philippines. The course is aligned with Department of Health Administrative Order No. 2021-0037.
Participants will gain essential knowledge on risk assessment, containment, safe laboratory practices, incident response, and regulatory compliance through lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. The course emphasizes the protection of personnel, the community, and the environment through responsible handling of biological materials.
Upon completion, participants are expected to support and strengthen biosafety and biosecurity programs in clinical, research, academic, and diagnostic laboratory settings.
